Workshop on \u201cScientific Publication Writing and Research-Based Innovation Development\u201d Strengthens Collaboration between University of Bengkulu and ITERA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), University of Bengkulu, successfully organized a Workshop on Scientific Publication Writing and Research-Based Innovation Development<\/em> on November, 27th<\/sup> 2026 as part of its continuous effort to enhance academic quality and research productivity. The event featured an invited speaker, Dr. Muhammad Asril, S.Si., M.Si. from Institut Teknologi Sumatera (ITERA), who shared his expertise in scientific writing and innovation development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop was attended by Head of Biology Department, Dr. Risky Hadi Wibowo, S.Si., M.Si., lecturers and students from both the Undergraduate and Master\u2019s Biology Study Programs, reflecting a strong enthusiasm for improving competencies in scientific publication and research-based innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was officially opened by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FMIPA University of Bengkulu, Prof. Morina Adva, S.Si., M.Si. In her opening remarks, she emphasized the importance of fostering a strong culture of scientific publication among academics, as it serves as a key indicator of institutional excellence. She also encouraged participants to actively transform their research findings into innovative outputs that can contribute to society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop session was moderated by Biology lecturer, Uci Cahlia, M.Si. who facilitated an engaging and interactive discussion throughout the event. During the session, Dr. Asril delivered comprehensive insights into effective strategies for writing scientific articles suitable for publication in reputable journals. His presentation covered essential topics such as structuring scientific manuscripts, selecting appropriate journals, avoiding plagiarism, and navigating the peer-review process. In addition, he highlighted the importance of translating research outputs into innovative products with practical and commercial potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop also included an interactive discussion and question-and-answer session, allowing participants to share their experiences and challenges in scientific writing and publication. This interactive approach enhanced participants\u2019 understanding and provided practical solutions to common issues faced in academic publishing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Importantly, this activity serves as a tangible demonstration of collaboration and partnership between the Department of Biology, University of Bengkulu, and ITERA.
