From September 27 to October 7, 2024, the Undergraduate Chemistry Program organized a Guest Lecture Program<\/em> featuring Fitri Hasanah, S.TP, M.Si., from the Center for Standardization and Industrial Services for Agro-Based Industries, Ministry of Industry. This program was part of the Agrochemistry course led by Dr. Agus Martono, DEA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this session, Fitri Hasanah, S.TP, M.Si., elaborated on the implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices<\/em> (GMP), which are crucial standards in the food industry. The topics covered included raw material management, hygienic production processes, and quality control to ensure the production of safe and high-quality food products. She also emphasized the importance of applying the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points<\/em>) system to ensure food safety from production stages to consumer delivery. Students gained insights into the regulations and guidelines of CPPOB (Cara Produksi Pangan Olahan yang Baik<\/em> or Good Processed Food Manufacturing Practices), which are relevant to agro-industrial development in Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a complementary learning experience, students also participated in an industrial visit to CV. Jaya Rasa, a producer of MSME product “Tuiri,” is renowned for its innovative mackerel fish bone crackers. During the visit, students gained firsthand knowledge of GMP implementation in production lines, including raw material management, processing, packaging, and waste management. CV. Jaya Rasa also shared strategies to enhance the competitiveness of local products in national and international markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Agus Martono stated that this program aims to integrate theory and practice, enabling students to understand how agrochemistry is applied in the food industry. “We hope this activity provides valuable experiences for students to comprehend the importance of standardization and food safety in supporting the sustainability of the agro-industrial sector,” he explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This activity aligns with the Undergraduate Chemistry Program’s efforts to strengthen collaboration between academia, practitioners, and industry players.
