Selection of New Student Admissions, Magister Degree Study Program in Statistics

The New Student Acceptance Selection for the University of Bengkulu can be classified into

  1. State University National Entrance Selection (SNMPTN), based on student’s achievement and academic portfolio.
  2. State University National Entrance Exam (SBMPTN), based on national academic test.
  3. State University Regional Entrance Exam conducted by State University Cooperation Body of Western Region.
  4. Bengkulu University Independent Entrance Selection.
  5. Independent Entrance Selection of Magister Study Program.

Magister Study Program in Statistics (MSPS) recruits new students once per year through the 5th classification. It means that each Magister Study Program all over University of Bengkulu conducts entrance test selection by itself. The selection conducted by Magister Study Program all over the university could be different in time and test types among one study program to another study program.
The procedure of new student recruitment for the Magister Study Program in Statistics could be divided into six steps:

  1. Promotions and new student enrolment announcements.
    This step is always updated from one year to the next year by considering the social development which change quickly due to disruption era. The schedule of this step is usually conducted for the time span of February to June. Some alternatives to implement this step in terms of promotion are through social media, electronic media, and print media such as Facebook, Instagram, website, local newspapers, and local TV.
  2. Registration
    Student candidates register in person at the office, or via post.
  3. Selection Test
    Selection includes administrative selections: candidates should attach a Bachelor’s degree certificate with a GPA > 2,75, interviews, and academic potential tests.
  4. Announcement of test results and reporting to the rector
    The head of the study program announces the test result in the website and reports the result to the rector.
  5. Administration process for students (payment of tuition fees and registration to get a student number)
    Student candidates can pay the tuition fee in the appointed bank. They are required to register as new students.
  6. Learning Process in class
    The new students can start their study in that semester
