Edufair 2025: Program Study S1 Biology of FMIPA Universitas Bengkulu Inspires Students to Shape a Bright Future with Tropical Biology

Bengkulu, January 8-9, 2025 — Excitement lit up the faces of students from various high schools and vocational schools as they participated in the Edufair 2025 event at SMAN 2 Bengkulu. This event was a special moment for the S1 Biology Study Program of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Bengkulu, to promote its excellent program to young generations interested in exploring tropical biology and pursuing a bright future as competitive biologists on both national and international levels.

The two-day Edufair was attended by thousands of students from various schools, including SMAN 2, SMAN 1, SMAN 4, SMKN 3, SMAN 7, SMAN 12, SMA Al-Hasanah, SMK Pharmacy, SMKN 1, SMAN 3, SMAN 5, SMAN 6, SMA IT IQRO, MA Pancasila, SMKN 4, and SMKN 6. In addition to Universitas Bengkulu, prominent universities such as Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), Universitas Andalas (Unand), Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu, Binus University, Universitas Brawijaya, and tutoring institutions like Ganesha Operation also enlivened the event.

Promoting Outstanding Programs and Golden Opportunities with Biology FMIPA UNIB

The booth of the  Program Study S1 Biology, FMIPA Universitas Bengkulu, was one of the most crowded spots visited by students. The team of lecturers and students enthusiastically provided information about the vision, mission, and objectives of the program. They also explained the broad career opportunities available to biology graduates, from researchers and academics to environmental consultants and entrepreneurs in tropical biology.

“We want to show students that biology is more than just a school subject — it’s a science that makes a significant impact on environmental conservation and community welfare,” said Putri Lisya Anggraini, S.Pd, M.Si., one of the lecturers present at the event. “Through this event, we hope to inspire more young people to join us in the S1 Biology Study Program, FMIPA Universitas Bengkulu.”

Engaging Facilities and Attractive Academic Programs

During their presentation, the Biology FMIPA UNIB team also highlighted modern facilities that support the learning process, including well-equipped laboratories for five major biology fields, comfortable learning spaces, and access to conservation areas for field research. Outstanding academic programs such as MBKM Internships, Independent Projects, a Fast Track S1-S2 Program (4+1 years), and collaborations with renowned universities like UGM, IPB, and BRIN were also key attractions for prospective students.

Additionally, impressive achievements were showcased, including holding the highest funding rank in the Student Creativity Program (PKM) at Universitas Bengkulu and remarkable performances in national scientific competitions.

Warm Reception from Students and Teachers

The students’ enthusiasm was palpable throughout the event. Many expressed their interest in applying to the S1 Biology Study Program, FMIPA Universitas Bengkulu, after gaining a clearer understanding of the study and career opportunities in this field.

“I’m very interested in conservation biology and want to contribute to environmental preservation. The information I got here was very helpful,” said a student from SMAN 4 Bengkulu.

Teachers accompanying the students also appreciated the event, praising the inspirational approach taken by the Biology FMIPA UNIB team in introducing their study program.
