Official Welcome and Acceptance of the 2025 Biology Students
The welcoming ceremony for new Biology students (MABA) class of 2025 was officially held by the Biology Department, FMIPA, Bengkulu University in the Botany laboratory on Thursday, August 7, completing a series of MABA welcoming ceremonies that have been held since Monday, August 4, 2025. The event began with singing the Indonesian national anthem and the FMIPA Biology march as a motivator for students who had previously done a paper mop at the FMIPA dean’s office.
The introductory material for the Biology Study Program was delivered by Dr. Sipriyadi, S.Si., M.Si. as the head of the Biology Department. He expressed welcome and success to students who had succeeded in winning the competition in competing to become part of the FMIPA Biology family who were accepted through the outstanding student selection route, joint selection for the national entrance exam, selection for the western region exam and the independent route. Straightening intentions and focusing on achieving both academically and non-academically is the key to living life as a Biology student and getting a bachelor of science degree on time. He also conveyed the motto, vision and mission of the Biology Study Program, introduction of lecturers, delivery of the code of ethics and sanctions that will be received if they commit violations.
This activity also provided information on the academic agenda for the semester, including structural lectures, independent lectures, practicums, group lectures, internships, and other activities. Furthermore, the department secretary, Evelyne Riandini, S.Si., M.Si., explained the course procedures, including the assignment of academic advisors (PA). She reminded students to always communicate with their PAs, who act as their guardians during their studies in the Biology Study Program. The next agenda item was an introduction to the teaching laboratory staff and typical activities in the Biology laboratory, as well as the laboratory regulations, which were explained by the head of the laboratory, Dedi Satriawan, S.Si., M.Si. The welcoming ceremony concluded with a group photo with the Biology lecturers, the Laboratory Assistants (PLP), and the Biology Student Association (HIMA Bio Abaka).
Classes are scheduled to begin on Monday, August 11, 2025. The Biology Department hopes that all 2025 biology students will remain enthusiastic and maintain their health while participating in the series of new student activities.
