Biology Department Invites the Youngest Professor of Sebelas Maret State University (UNS) to Inspire Lecturers and Students to Achieve Overseas Scholarships

Prof. Dr. agr. Ir. Muhammad Cahyadi, S.Pt., M. Biotech., IPM, is the youngest professor at Sebelas Maret State University (UNS). At the time of his inauguration, he was 37 years and 6 months old. He completed his undergraduate and master’s degrees at UGM, and his Ph.D. at Changnam National University in Daejeon, South Korea. The professor, who was born in Lahat, South Sumatra, specializes in molecular genetics.

Prof. Dr. agr. Ir. Muhammad Cahyadi, S.Pt., M. Biotech., IPM, was a recipient of the Tanoto Foundation scholarship. Throughout his higher education, Muhammad Cahyadi actively sought scholarships until he successfully obtained his doctoral degree. This background is what attracted the Department of Biology at FMIPA UNIB to invite Prof. Dr. agr. Ir. Muhammad Cahyadi, S.Pt., M. Biotech., IPM. He currently serves as the Head of the Animal Husbandry Study Program at Sebelas Maret State University (UNS).

Tuesday, November 12, 2024, Prof. Dr. agr. Ir. Muhammad Cahyadi, S.Pt., M. Biotech., IPM, delivered two materials at once. First, tips related to securing PKM funding and entering Pimnas. Furthermore, he shared tips for studying S3 Education Abroad and becoming a young professor. “Even if you have economic limitations, don’t let them dampen your dreams of achieving your goals,” said Cahyadi. 

Muhammad Cahyadi advised students and lecturers who aspire to excel to actively seek opportunities, read diligently to improve literacy, make plans for the future, and never give up on their pursuits. Muhammad Cahyadi had experienced failure during the selection process for admission to Gajah Mada University (UGM) and Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). The approach Cahyadi took was introspection following the failure. “That is what must be instilled in us, never give up,” he said.

Dr. Sipriyadi, S.Si., M.Si, as the Head of the Biology Department, hopes that through the visit of the youngest Professor of Sebelas Maret State University (UNS), it can inspire the participants who attend. He aims to increase student motivation to participate in PKM activities to qualify for Pimnas. He also encourages young lecturers to be more active in pursuing their doctoral education abroad to follow in the footsteps of our presenters, namely becoming young professors.
