
General Lecture “Journey and Research Results and Connections with International Cooperation in the Field of Biology
On Friday, November 17, 2023, the Biology Department, FMIPA, Bengkulu University held a public lecture with the theme “Journey and Research Results and Connections with International Cooperation in the Field of Biology”. This activity is a collaboration between the Research Department of Biology, FMIPA IPB University and Biology, FMIPA UNIB, which aims to strengthen research connections and international cooperation in the field of Biology.
The public lecture held at the UNIB Integrated Service Building was opened by the Dean of FMIPA, Dr. Jarulis, S.Si., M.Si and attended by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. M. Lutfi Firdaus s.Si, M.T, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FMIPA, Prof. Ashar Muda Lubis M.Sc, Ph.D, Vice Dean for Resources, Dr. Eng. M. Asdim M.Si, Lecturer of Biology and approximately 168 Students of the Biology Department of FMIPA UNIB.
The main speaker at this public lecture was Dr. Berry Juliandi, S.Si., M.Si. who is the Dean and Lecturer of Biology at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences IPB University, who presented various research results and his experiences in developing international collaboration in the field of Biology. This public lecture itself provided 2 materials, namely the first material about networking and tips for establishing international cooperation in the field of Biology. The next material was an explanation related to stem cell material with objects in the form of paralyzed mice given genetically engineered stem cell treatment as a method of treating paralysis..
The purpose of this activity is to increase participants’ insight in developing and applying the biological knowledge they have acquired, understanding the latest research developments, especially in efforts to conserve biodiversity in Indonesia. With this activity, it is hoped that the academic community can expand their networks and enrich their knowledge, especially in the context of international research.
This activity was closed with an interactive question and answer session between participants and speakers, distribution of certificates to speakers and participants, and a group photo.
