The position of the city of Bengkulu, which is along the coast, has enormous tourism potential. However, it is prone to earthquakes and tsunamis.

In addition, waste management is also a major and crucial problem in Bengkulu City.
One effort to overcome this problem is to develop a culture of caring for the environment and disaster preparedness from an early stage.

In supporting this effort, the Bengkulu University FMIPA’s community service team consisting of Elfi Yuliza, Dyah Setyo Rini and Herlin Fransiska and students consisting of Eko Heru Purwanto, M. Taufiqurrahman Syah, Reyvo Valeriyan and Nutia Rosdalena held a service activity with the theme “Environmental Literacy”.
