Undergraduate Statistics Program of Universitas Bengkulu Organizes an Internal Workshop for the 2025 Curriculum Revision / Prodi S1 Statistika UNIB Selenggarakan Workshop Internal Penyusunan Revisi Kurikulum 2025
Bengkulu, November 15, 2025 – The Undergraduate Statistics Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Bengkulu, organized an Internal Workshop on Curriculum Revision on Thursday–Friday, November 13–14, 2025, held at the Undergraduate Statistics Program Meeting Room. The workshop was attended by all lecturers of the program as part of a continuous effort to ensure the quality and relevance of the curriculum in response to developments in science, technology, and labor market demands.
The workshop aimed to evaluate the existing curriculum and alumni tracer study results, while also aligning the curriculum with higher education policies, the implementation of the Kampus Berdampak initiative, and the rapid development of statistics, data science, big data, and artificial intelligence. Through this internal academic forum, lecturers of the Undergraduate Statistics Program actively engaged in discussions and formulated directions for an adaptive and future-oriented curriculum.
On the first day, the activities focused on evaluating the current curriculum and discussing the results of the alumni tracer study. The discussion concluded that graduates of the Undergraduate Statistics Program at Universitas Bengkulu have demonstrated strong competencies in ethics, communication, teamwork, information technology skills, and core disciplinary expertise. However, there remains a need to strengthen foreign language proficiency, soft skills, and to broaden graduates’ career orientations toward industry, the private sector, and entrepreneurship. Based on these discussions, the participants agreed on the graduate profiles of the program—namely academician, statistician, data analyst, and data scientist—and formulated the Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs).
The second day of the workshop focused on determining fields of study and establishing courses. The agreed fields of study included religious values and Pancasila, skills and personal development, fundamental concepts of mathematics, statistics, probability, and computation, methods of data collection and analysis, statistical modeling, as well as big data analytics and artificial intelligence. Based on these fields of study, participants formulated the direction for course development and curriculum mapping to ensure alignment with the established PLOs and graduate profiles.
Through this workshop, the Undergraduate Statistics Program successfully reached an agreement on the draft of the revised curriculum, including graduate profiles, Program Learning Outcomes, fields of study, and the direction of the new curriculum structure. The outcomes of this activity will serve as an important foundation for developing a more relevant, adaptive, and competitive curriculum for the Undergraduate Statistics Program at Universitas Bengkulu, supporting the preparation of graduates who are ready to face workforce challenges and advances in the data-driven era.
