The Bachelor in Chemistry Study Programme was officially established with the issuance of the Decree of the Minister of education and culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 195 /O/1999 dated August 10th, 1999. On 2006, Chemistry get accreditation with B rating based on SK BAN No. 008/BAN-PT/Ak-X/S1/VII/2006. The license for PS Kimia has been extended based on the letter from the Director General of Higher Education No. 1951/D/T/2008 for a period of four years starting June 11, 2008. Until now, Chemistry Department has reaccredited 4 times. In 2011, PS Kimia got a B rating based on SK BAN PT No. 025/BAN-PT/Ak-XIV/S1/IX/2011 until September 2016. Then in 2016 the re-accreditation of Chemistry Study Program obtained an A rating based on BAN-PT Decree No. 1534/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/VIII/2016 which is valid until August 2021. And the last, in November 2021, re-accreditation of Chemistry Study Program obtained very well accreditation from Director General of Higher Education based on BAN-PT No.13478/SK/BAN-PT/AKred-PMT/S/XII/2021 valid until Desember 2026.
