
University of Bengkulu Delegation Strengthens International Collaboration with Universiti Teknologi MARA and Universiti Malaya
Malaysia, October 3, 2024 – The University of Bengkulu (UNIB) continues to strengthen its position on the international stage through a series of strategic partnerships with prominent institutions in Malaysia, namely Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and Universiti Malaya (UM).
On October 3, 2024, a delegation from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at UNIB visited the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Puncak Alam. The delegation, led by Dr. Evi Maryanti, M.Si, aimed to explore potential collaborations in research and postgraduate programs. Other members of the delegation included Apt. Nori Wirahmi, S.Farm, M.Farm, and Wulan Aprilia Syafitri, an undergraduate student from the Chemistry program. The guests were warmly welcomed by Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Shahezwan Abd Wahab and his team from UiTM’s Faculty of Pharmacy.
The discussions yielded promising opportunities for collaboration in various areas, including joint research initiatives and postgraduate student development. The delegation also toured UiTM’s state-of-the-art laboratories to observe the advanced research facilities and ongoing projects.
“UiTM has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to cutting-edge research. We are optimistic that this collaboration will bring significant benefits to both institutions,” said Dr. Evi Maryanti.
In addition to the visit to UiTM, UNIB has also established a partnership with the Faculty of Science at Universiti Malaya (UM). This collaboration focuses on a research project titled “Synthesis, Characterization, and Application of Composite Materials Based on Metal-Organic Framework and Natural Minerals from Bengkulu Province for the Degradation of Textile and Pharmaceutical Pollutants.”



The project aims to develop materials based on Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) and natural minerals from Bengkulu to address pollution in the textile and pharmaceutical sectors. Through these strategic collaborations, UNIB hopes to enhance its research capacity, expand its international academic network, and make meaningful contributions to global issues such as environmental pollution.
