University of Bengkulu Holds Lecturer Exchange Program with University of Central Punjab, Pakistan

Bengkulu, May 6, 2025 — The Chemistry Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Bengkulu, successfully held a Lecturer Exchange program as part of its effort to promote international academic collaboration and education globalization. This time, the University of Bengkulu partnered with the University of Central Punjab, Pakistan in an online guest lecture.

With the theme “Elucidate the Structure of Organic Compounds: ¹H & ¹³C-NMR and GC-MS”, the lecture was delivered by Dr. Shafiq ur Rehman, Associate Professor at the University of Central Punjab, Pakistan. He presented an in-depth discussion on modern spectroscopic techniques for determining the structure of organic compounds—an essential topic for students and researchers in the field of chemistry.

The session was held via Zoom on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM (Indonesian Time), and was attended by students and lecturers of the Chemistry Department, University of Bengkulu. The class was coordinated by Dr. Devi Ratnawati, Associate Professor at the University of Bengkulu.

This program reflects the spirit of the Merdeka Belajar (Freedom to Learn) initiative and supports the vision of the University of Bengkulu to expand its global academic network, particularly in the field of chemistry.

Through programs like this, students are expected to gain international insights and deepen their understanding of advanced analytical techniques such as ¹H-NMR, ¹³C-NMR, and GC-MS, which are highly relevant in organic chemistry research and pharmaceutical industries. [Vicka Andini]
