Coordinator of Geophysics Study Program and Representative of Geophysics Lecturers Attend 2024 FPPGI Meeting

Located in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Padang State University (UNP) on Monday, September 23, 2024, the Annual Meeting of the Association of Indonesian Geophysical Education Providers (APPGI) was held. This activity was attended by all study programs that provide Geophysical Education, namely the Geophysics Study Program, Geophysical Engineering Study Program, and the Geophysical Interest Field. This year’s meeting was attended by 23 universities throughout Indonesia. On this occasion, the Coordinator of the Geophysics Study Program, FMIPA, Bengkulu University, Suhendra, S.Si., M.T., participated in this activity with two lecturers, namely Prof. Dr. M. Farid, M.S., and Dr. Arif Ismul Hadi, S.Si., M.Si.

In the organizational arrangement, it was agreed that the name APPGI would change to the Indonesian Geophysical Education Provider Forum (FPPGI). The Chairperson of APPGI for the 2022-2024 period, Dr. Sudarmaji, M.Sc., was re-elected by acclamation as the Chairperson of FPPGI for the 2024-2026 period.

The activity discussed and agreed on the minimum learning outcomes for the Geophysics Study Program and the Geophysical Engineering Study Program. Then, guidelines were drawn up to align the Minimum Learning Outcomes of Geophysics Education in Indonesia, both the Geophysics Study Program and the Geophysical Engineering Study Program. In addition, the Geophysical Education Providers also refined the guidelines for improving the curriculum and learning process.
