Data Acquisition of MT and Seismic Methods in Kepahiang District, Identification of Geothermal Energy Sources

A survey team from the Geophysics Study Program conducted field data acquisition in the geothermal area of Kepahiang Regency. The field data acquisition utilized the Magnetotelluric (MT) Method and was led by Prof. Dr. M. Farid, M.S.

The survey team consisted of three researchers and ten students from the Geophysics Study Program, spanning fourth and sixth semesters. The research involved data acquisition at 30 Magnetotelluric data collection stations. This study aims to develop a model of geothermal energy sources.

The lead researcher explained that this study would produce a three-dimensional subsurface structural model that governs the geothermal manifestations in Kepahiang. Furthermore, it seeks to assess the geothermal potential for future utilization.
