PUBLIC LECTURE: The Indonesian Tectonic Framework & Geological Natural Disaster Mitigation
Monday (31/01), a public lecture entitled "Indonesian Tectonic Framework & Mitigation of Geological Natural Disasters" was held. This public lecture activity was held as a provision for the learning process for Physics Department Students in the new academic year. Mr. Kustomo Hasan, B.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D Director of Operations at PT. Bara Mega Quantum, who was the guest speaker at this public lecture, delivered the Indonesian Tectonic Framework and Geological Natural Disaster Mitigation.
This Public Lecture for the Physics Department is held in a Hybrid manner, that is, it is held offline in the Auditorium of FKIK University of Bengkulu and online through a virtual zoom meeting. On this occasion he conveyed about Indonesia's tectonic framework and natural disaster mitigation. He said that natural disasters often occur in Indonesia because Indonesia is a country that is at the confluence of 3 colliding world plates, namely the Pacific Ocean Plate, the Eurasian Continental Plate, and the Indo-Australian Ocean Plate. So that the Indonesian Archipelago is known as the Ring of Fire because there are as many as 33% of the world's volcanoes, and as many as 129 are active volcanoes which can erupt at any time.

Ending the public lecture, Mr. Kustomo Hasan, B.Sc, M.Phil., Ph.D said that to reduce the risk related to geological natural disasters that will occur or have occurred, socialization must be carried out to the community, especially being a student must participate in good things so that the community is more aware of natural disasters that will occur at any time.
