Public Lecture : Reinsurance Strategy

Bachelor of Mathematics Study Program FMIPA, Bengkulu University held a public lecture with the theme Reinsurance Strategy as One of the Determining Components of Life Insurance Profitability. This public lecture discusses the definition of insurance and the reasons for their importance for everyone.

Many people do not realize that life insurance is important for future certainty. Life insurance is insurance that aims to cover unexpected financial losses caused by the sudden death or the long living of the client. The main focus of this insurance is death insurance. Death results in the loss of income for a particular person or family. For this reason, life insurance is needed, so that the people left behind by the client can still live their lives with the sum insured.

The goal of this activity is as a means of sharing experiences so that students can be inspired to become insurance professionals who are able to compete in the global realm.

This public lecture was held on 26 November, 2022, at 09.00 – 12.00 WIB, virtually. This public lecture was attended by 150 students and lecturers. The speaker for this public lecture was Mr. Wira Darmiza, M.Sc., FSAI who is an Actuary from PT Hexa Solution Insurance Company. The material presented by the speaker was entitled “Reinsurance Strategy as One of the Determining Components of Life Insurance Profitability”. The results expected to be achieved in this public lecture are, students become familiar with and understand the reinsurance strategy in life insurance, generally in the actuarial field.
