
Independent Campus Program, Student Exchange at Lampung University
On August 20, 2024, four students from the Bachelor of Mathematics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Bengkulu University to take part in the Student Exchange program in the framework of the Merdeka Campus Competition Program (PKKM). The four students are Arita Nurul Khotimah, Khaira Nabila Aprilia, Aprisya Octhania, and Aisyah Enggel Luthfiyah. They were delivered directly by Bengkulu University Lecturer, Mrs. Septri Damayanti, S.Si., M.Si, to the University of Lampung (UNILA). The handover ceremony took place at the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Lampung. On this occasion, the Head of UNILA Mathematics Department, Dr. Aang Nuryaman, S.Si., M.Si, was also present to welcome the students.
This program is part of a collaborative effort between Bengkulu University Mathematics Study Program and UNILA Mathematics Study Program. The program aims to introduce students to a different academic atmosphere, expand networks, and provide valuable new experiences for self-development.

During the program, the four students will follow seven course, namely Introduction to Functional Analysis, Real Analysis 2, Optimization, Scientific Writing, Data Exploration, Complex Functions and Mathematical Modeling. The courses are designed to provide a deep understanding in various fields of mathematics. In addition, students are also expected to develop critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills that will be very useful in their future careers. By joining this program, students not only gain academic experience, but also learn to adapt to new environments, develop soft skills, and strengthen their mentality of hard work and independence.
This program not only provides an opportunity to broaden academic horizons, but also strengthens relationships between universities in Indonesia. It is hoped that the students can gain useful new experiences, both academically and personally, which can be applied in the development of mathematics in the future. Bengkulu University and Lampung University also hope that this collaboration will be the first step to establish closer partnerships in the future, including in the fields of research and community service.
