Mathematical modeling has a big role in life. The role of mathematics and science is needed both for prediction and handling, especially to overcome environmental problems. This activity was attended by lecturers and students from the mathematics department, faculty of mathematics and natural sciences, Bengkulu University. This webinar is a means of sharing for lecturers and students, especially in the field of environmental mathematical modeling.

This webinar activity was held on Tuesday, 21th February 2023. Present as presenters were Dr. Agus Salim, M.Sc. from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, and Dr. Fanani Haryo Widodo, M.Sc from Bengkulu University. The speakers explained the principles of mathematical modeling, advection-diffusion-reaction phenomena and examples of environmental mathematics. There are two approaches to connecting math tools with the real world, namely by having mathematical tools and then looking for their application in the real world or having problems in the real world and then looking for mathematical tools that suit environmental mathematical problems.
