About Physics Study Program

The physics study program was established in 2001. In its development, the physics study program has 18 lecturers with expertise in the fields of physics, instrumentation physics, earth physics /geophysics, and marine physics/oceanography. To support the teaching and learning process, the Physics study program has various classrooms, laboratories, laboratory equipment, multimedia rooms, laboratory staff, and administrative staff. In addition, it is currently “B” accredited by BAN-PT.

Three Specific Area in Physics Study Program

In the physics study program, there are three areas of interest that students can choose to help complete their final project. The requested fields in the physics study program are Geophysics/Earth Physics, Oceanography/Marine physics and Instrumentation. The development of the specific fields of this study program is related to the position of Bengkulu at the confluence of three plates and the coast as well as the rich biodiversity of tropical rain forests and natural minerals it possesses. Then, each division is headed by the head of the division of specific field of physics study program. This specific area is also supported by the availability of laboratory equipment.

Featured Activities

The physics study program has various routine activities to improve quality and learning outcomes. Several regular activities include Stadium Generale, International Conference, Field course, and other activities. This public conference is held at least four times yearly with themes and qualified resource persons in their fields.
