BUILDING THE ENTREPRENEURS OF MAMBAUL ULUM STUDENTS BY USING THE LED STRIP
Madrasah Aliyah Mambaul Ulum is one of the private madrasah under the Ministry of Religious Affairs which is located on Jl. Masjid Al-Muttaqin No. 92 Harapan Makmur Village, Central Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province. The school, which has been established since 2016, has an independent business unit whose profits are used to support school operations such as electricity costs and payment of salaries for teachers and education staff. However, the efforts that have been running so far have not optimally met school operations. Based on these conditions, the team which is Physics Lecturer at FMIPA UNIB (Chandra Kurniawan, M.Sc., Rida Samdara, M.S., and Dr. Riska Ekawita) assumes that there is a need for additional business units that can be run by schools. One of the business units that has never been run by MA Mambaul Ulum is an electronics-based business using LED (Light Emitting Diode) Strips. The selection of this business unit is based on the field of expertise of the team, field of instrumentational physics (electronics). LED Strips are used as the main stuff in making souvenirs in the form of decorative lights and acrylic lamps that are worth selling. The LED Strip-based souvenir is expected to be able to attract market interest and make it a means of promoting school business units.
This activity was carried out on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, in one of the MA Mambaul Ulum classrooms in Bengkulu Tengah with students who joined in small groups. This activity began with an opening by the PPM Team from UNIB and remarks from the head of MA Mambaul Ulum.
The presentation is carried out in two stages. The first presentation is about making text displays from neon flex and the second is about acrylic lights using LED Strips. The topics were practiced directly by MA Mambaul Ulum students to make souvenirs that were worth selling. The enthusiasm of the students was very high in paying attention to the presentation by the PPM team, and their interest was obviously looked when they directly practiced making and customizing the LED Strip. Direct assistance to each participant’s table was also carried out by the PPM team to ensure that the steps and procedures for making souvenirs were appropriate.
