General Lecture ” The Role of Oceanographers in the Planning and Implementation of Offshore Construction”

General lectures are routine activities organized by the Physics Study Program to enhance academic insight and broaden students’ understanding of developments in science and technology. On September 20, 2025, the Physics Study Program held a hybrid general lecture featuring Muhammad Rasyid Ridha, S.T., a Naval Engineer at Saipem Abu Dhabi, as the Keynote Speaker

The general lecture addressed the theme “The Role of Oceanography in the Planning and Implementation of Offshore Construction.” The event was attended by all active students of the Physics Study Program as well as lecturers from the Physics Department.

The speaker delivered engaging and insightful material, particularly related to offshore construction and drilling activities, which captured the attention of participants throughout the session. The lecture also included an interactive discussion and question-and-answer session, during which participants explored topics such as career opportunities for Physics Study Program graduates in the offshore and maritime industries. This activity is expected to enrich students’ academic perspectives and strengthen their understanding of the real-world applications of physics, especially in the context of offshore engineering and oceanography.
