Orientation to the Physics Laboratory for Students of Physics Study Program Class of 2024

Tourlab (Laboratory Tour) is a new program launched by the Physics Student Association (HIMAFI) at the University of Bengkulu as part of its 2025 agenda. This initiative is specifically designed to serve as an introductory activity for new students of the Physics Study Program before they begin more advanced laboratory work and practical sessions.

The primary objective of Tourlab is to provide early exposure to the functions, facilities, and types of experiments conducted in the various Physics laboratories within the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA). In addition, the program introduces students to the three specialization tracks offered in the Physics Study Program:

Instrumentation

Marine Physics / Oceanography

Geophysics

By participating in Tourlab, new students are expected to gain a clearer understanding of the academic pathways available to them, while also appreciating how theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom is applied in real-world scientific practice.
