Physics Student Association Holds Marine Copernicus Training to Enhance Student Competence

The Physics Student Association (HIMAFI) organized a Marine Copernicus Training aimed at enhancing students’ competencies in utilizing satellite-based oceanographic and marine data. The training was conducted on October 10, 2025, in the Physics Seminar Room, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), University of Bengkulu, and featured Septi Johan, M.Si., and Siti Hairunnisa, M.Si. as speakers.

The training was attended by students of the Physics Study Program and was delivered in an interactive format through material presentations and hands-on practice. The topics covered included an introduction to the Copernicus Marine Service, methods for accessing and downloading marine data, processing and visualizing oceanographic data, and its applications in physics, earth sciences, and marine disaster mitigation.

Through this training, students are expected to gain a solid understanding of the fundamental concepts of Marine Copernicus data utilization and to apply these data in support of academic activities, research projects, and final thesis preparation. The program also equipped students with marine data analysis skills that are highly relevant to both research and professional environments.

The Physics Study Program expressed its appreciation to the Physics Student Association for its initiative and contribution in organizing this competency-enhancing training. It is hoped that similar training activities will continue to be implemented on a regular basis to support the continuous improvement of the quality and competitiveness of Physics Study Program graduates.
