Teaching Practitioners is a program initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia so that university graduates are better prepared to enter the working world. This program encourages the active collaboration of expert practitioners with award-winning speakers to create an in-depth and meaningful exchange of knowledge and expertise between higher education scholars and working professionals. Furthermore, this activity can reduce the skills gap between new graduates with the needs of the world of work. The activities of teaching practitioners are carried out collaboratively in the subjects taught in the classroom via daring. In the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year, the Physics study program welcomes practitioners teaching independently in 3 courses. As for teaching practitioners, this is done in Quantum Physics, Sea Currents, and Medical Instrumentation courses. The implementation of this activity was carried out online for two appointments of 100 minutes each.

In the activities of practitioners teaching quantum physics courses, the physics study program invited Dr. Sasfan Arman Wella, S.Si., M.Sc. from the Quantum Physics Research Center, National Agency for Research and Innovation. In the first meeting, Dr. Arman explained the importance of studying quantum physics about its potential application in future technologies. In the second meeting, computation material with quantum physics was discussed, which is highly relevant to current developments in science and technology.

For the Sea Currents course, Mr. Muhammad Fadli, M.Sc. of Deep Sea Research Center, National Research and Innovation Agency. In two online meetings, Mr. Fadli conveyed the results of marine research, scientific development, and the potential of students’ final work related to marine exploration.
Meanwhile, Sra Harke Pratama, M.Sc., Biosignal Analyst and Developer, MC Company United States Practitioners, was invited to the Medical Instrumentation Course. On this occasion, Mr. Sra explained the results of his research on Electroencephalography and the developments in progress. During the second meeting, it was also presented how the data processing and analysis were carried out.

In general, the students were very enthusiastic about attending practitioners’ lectures. Students gain insight into the applications of the courses they are studying, the real world of work related to the theories covered in these courses, and the atmosphere of the working world. Therefore, this activity will be performed routinely by the curriculum.
