Yard land can be used for various purposes such as beautifying the house, as a living pharmacy and nutritional garden (Alhudhori, 2017). This effort can also be used as a source of income to empower families and increase family food security in order to fulfill nutritional needs. Types of plants that can be planted in the home garden include vegetables, fruit and spice plants or more commonly known as empon-empon. The results that can be harvested from the yard can be used for the family’s daily food needs and can also be used as income for the family. One of the vegetable plants that has high nutritional content, has sales value and is much in demand by the public is Pakcoy mustard greens, which is very suitable for cultivation in the yard (Pandaleke, 2022).

From the observations of the Science and Technology Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences community service team to Talang Pauh Village, data was obtained that some people had used their yards as a place to grow vegetables, but the people still used traditional methods to cultivate plants/vegetables by planting them directly in the ground. Based on these conditions, to cultivate Pakcoy mustard greens, the Science and Technology Service Team of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences provided a solution: 1] Cultivate Pakcoy mustard greens using wooden box planting media; 2] Replace the function of soil by using Cocopeat and sand as nutrients; and 3] Installing a rotating garden model Sprinkler Sprayer watering system.

The 2024 Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences community service team consists of Suhendra, S.Si, M.T., Dra. Rida Samdara, M.S., and Halauddin, S.Si, M.T. as head of community service, he will provide counseling and demonstration with the theme of Science and Technology Service with the title “Utilization of Cocopeat and Sand for Planting Pakcoy Mustard Greens Using Wooden Box Planting Media in Narrow Land Equipped with Automatic Sprinkle Sprayer Watering for the Jasmine Family Welfare Development Group, Talang Pauh Kelapa Village, Central Bengkulu”. The activities were carried out in August-October 2024. The target audience in this case is the Melati Family Welfare Development Group which plays a very active role in the Science and Technology Service activities of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The benefits and results that have been obtained by partners are that partners have succeeded in cultivating Pakcoy mustard greens using wooden box planting media; replace the function of soil by using Cocopeat and sand as nutrients; and how to install the rotating garden model Sprinkler Sprayer watering system.
