MAJOR CONSENTRATION
Major Consentration of Biology Master Study Program consist of 3 division, which are Conservation Biology, Molecular Biology, and Bioprospecting.
GRADUATE PROFILES
Graduate profile is a role that can be carried out by a graduate in a particular field of expertise or work after completing the study program. This role can refer to a profession or a special type of work or a form of work that can be used in several more general fields launched by the Study Program. In summary, the graduate profile that will be produced from the Biology Master’s (S-2) Study Program is as follows:
Academics and Researchers, able to assess, develop and discover knowledge and novelty about molecular biology, conservation biology and bioprospecting in the broadest sense and able to produce scientific riches that are worthy of publication in reputable international journals.
Consultants, able to provide expertise for solving problems related to the fields of molecular biology, conservation biology and bioprospecting in the sense broad in an interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary manner and provide recommendations for development strategies in the future.
Experts, able to contribute to job creation, both in the field of natural resource conservation and the tourism sector.
Bureaucrats, able to work together in teams and work together in improving the quality of services/services required by society, and have sensitivity to the problems faced by society.
HUMAN RESOURCES
The number of permanent PS MB S-2 lecturers is 15 people consisting of 5 homebased lecturers and 10 non-homebased lecturers. Of the total 15 PS MB S-2 lecturers, 40% have academic positions as professors, 40% as associate professors, and 13.33% as lecturers and 6.67% as expert assistants. The MIPA and PS faculties continue to encourage lecturers to be able to process promotions to academic positions so that composition continues to improve.
The areas of expertise possessed by PS permanent lecturers include cell and molecular biology, bioprospecting, biotechnology of bioactive compounds, ecology, genetics, animal population genetics, genetics in disturbed and coastal landscapes, molecular biotechnology, plant genetics, conservation, biodiversity conservation in disturbed landscapes and tropical coasts , biological research design, evolution of biodiversity, bioprospecting of disturbed landscapes and tropical coasts, bioprospecting of food and medicinal plants, and biological control agents for disturbed landscapes. Apart from that, the credit weight (credits) for courses charged by each lecturer ranges from 3 to 9 credits.
