Visitation of Biology Master Study Program, FMIPA University of Bengkulu (UNIB) to The Bioscience Institute, University of Brawijaya (UB)
The Bioscience Institute was established based on the Rector’s Decree No. 111/SK/2012 dated March 2, 2012, under the name of the Bioscience Laboratory. Along with the needs and development of activities in the Bioscience Laboratory and to meet the demands in realizing the synergy of ABGC (Academy-Business-Government-Society), in September 2016, based on the Rector’s Regulation No. 40 of 2016, the Bioscience Laboratory changed its name to the Bioscience Institute, which is currently located in the Bioscience Institute Building, Jl. Mayjend Panjaitan, University of Brawijaya. The product that has been successfully launched by the Bioscience Institute is the GAD65 Diagnostic Kit for the early detection of Diabetes Mellitus (DM). The grand launching of the product was inaugurated by the Director-General of Science and Technology Resources of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Ali Ghufron Mukti, M.Sc., Ph.D., on June 23, 2016.
The Biosains Institute implements a quality management system and product quality assurance in accordance with the regulations set by the Ministry of Health and other related agencies that have production certification, CPAKB and Domestic Component Level (TKDN) under review.
Visitation to the bioscience institute of UB was facilitated by Prof. Dr. Gatot Ciptadi, DESS from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry with 4 of biology master students: Gustina Dwi Wulandari, S.Si, Reza Wahyuni, S.Si, Nurul Aini S.Si, Livia Rayani Sinaga, S.Si and 2 of biology lecturers Safniyetti, S.Pd. M.Si. (undergraduate biology lecture) and Dr. Risky Hadi Wibowo, S.Si., M.Si. (coordinator) visited the Biosains Institute that has several laboratories with facilities to support research implementation, such as the Histopathology Laboratory, Experimental Animal Laboratory, Molecular Biology Laboratory, and Microscope Room.
Master students visiting and introduced to the advanced laboratory equipment, especially in the molecular biology laboratory, which has the ability to analyze genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics, as well as recombinant DNA and recombinant protein engineering to produce superior products.
