NATIONAL SEMINAR COLLABORATION WITH METEOROLOGY AND CLIMATOLOGY AGENCY

To implement the collaboration between the University of Bengkulu and the Meteorology and Climatology Agency, a National Seminar was held with the theme ‘The Role of Academics and Policy in Disaster Adaptation and Mitigation in Bengkulu.’ The seminar took place on October 10, 2023, in the Main Meeting Room of the Rectorate Building at the University of Bengkulu. This National Seminar featured speakers from both academic and practitioner backgrounds, namely:

a. Prof. Dr. M. Farid (University of Bengkulu)
b. Prof. Ashar Muda Lubis, Ph.D (Univeristy of Bengkulu)
c. Ruben Damanik, M.Si., M.T. (Indonesian Association of Geophysicists)
d. Claus J.A. Damanik, M.P. (The Head of Meteorology and Climatology Agency in Bengkulu Area)
e. Khristian Hermansyah, M.Si. (Secretary of Regional Disaster Management Agency, Bengkulu Province)
f. Anton Sugiarto, S.Kom (The Head of Geophysics Station, Meteorology and Climatology Agency, Kepahiang)

Participants in this activity were representatives from relevant agencies and institutions across Bengkulu Province. The seminar also featured parallel sessions with various speakers presenting topics related to the seminar’s theme
