
Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Bengkulu, Successfully Hosts The First Basic and Applied Sciences Symposium of Tropical and Coastal Research “Basistora” 2024
Bengkulu, August 29, 2024—The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at the University of Bengkulu has achieved another milestone by successfully organizing the international seminar Basistora. This prestigious event brought together academics, researchers, and students from various countries, making it one of the most significant scientific gatherings of the year.
The “Basistora” seminar featured distinguished speakers from around the world, including:
- Prof. Mamoru Koketsu from Gifu University, Japan.
- Assoc. Prof. Muskhazil Bin Mustafa from Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia.
- Prof. Li Linlin from Sun Yat-Sen University, China.
- Assoc. Prof. Worlanso A Shimray from the College of Nursing Christian Institute of Health Sciences & Research, India.
- Assoc. Prof. Salameh Sedaghat from Buein Zahra Technical University, Iran.
- Prof. Mohzin Kazi from King Saud University, Saudi Arabia.
The seminar aimed to foster international research collaboration, share the latest insights in science and technology and expand global academic networks.
The Rector of the University of Bengkulu, Dr. Retno Agustina Ekaputri, S.E, M.Sc, expressed his pride during the opening remarks. “The Basistora seminar demonstrates the University of Bengkulu’s commitment to advancing globally-oriented education and research. We hope this seminar serves as a platform for generating innovations and real solutions to global challenges,” he stated.
In addition to plenary sessions led by keynote speakers, the seminar featured over with presentations from participants showcasing research in various fields, including mathematics, physics, biology, and chemistry, nursery, . Each session’s in-depth discussions provided participants with new insights and enriched their understanding of their respective fields.
In his closing speech, the Dean of FMIPA, Prof. Dr. Sal Prima Yudha, S.Si., M.Si., expressed his gratitude to all committee members, speakers, and participants who contributed to the event’s success. “We hope Basistora becomes an annual event that continues to elevate the University of Bengkulu’s reputation on the international stage,” he said.
With the conclusion of this event, FMIPA at the University of Bengkulu reaffirms its position as a center of excellence in education, research, and innovation at a global level. Participants are optimistic that this seminar will continue to serve as a productive platform for future collaborations.
