Tracer Study 2026: Alumni Employment Outcomes

The 2025 Tracer Study of the Undergraduate Biology Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Bengkulu, provides an overview of alumni employment outcomes, including the transition from graduation to employment, current employment sectors, and the relevance of their jobs to their field of study.

The findings indicate that 50% of alumni secured employment within six months of graduation, while the remaining 50% obtained employment within 6–18 months. No alumni reported a waiting period exceeding 18 months or another waiting-time category.

In terms of employment sectors, alumni are distributed across entrepreneurship (25%), private-sector education (25%), private-sector services (25%), and other sectors (25%). No alumni reported employment in finance, manufacturing, state-owned enterprises, or local and central government institutions.

Regarding the relevance of employment to their academic background, 75% of alumni reported that their jobs were highly relevant to their field of study, while 25% reported that their jobs were not related to their academic background. No alumni selected the categories “relevant” or “moderately relevant.”

Overall, these findings provide valuable insights into alumni career pathways and the alignment between biology education and professional opportunities. The results can serve as a basis for strengthening curriculum relevance, career development support, and collaboration with employers and other stakeholders to improve graduate employability and career readiness.
